How do I add some instance-specific value to a trait? (Broken Record Edition)

I absolutely love Armory and have been having a great time working with it, and I don’t mind the bugs and features in progress at all, it makes it kind of fun to see what can and can’t be done. I love the challenge. I have, however, run into a challenge I don’t love, finding answers to things everyone knows how to do but me, and no one is interested in talking about.

I have been looking for the answer to this question for a week.

Unfortunately, this neither answers the question nor gives me a clue where else to look. I would greatly appreciate any kind of link to the example mentioned, or some other place where everyone else has seemingly learned to do this.

If the answer is “grind through all examples findable in all search engines until you find it by accident, noob” I accept that.
